Hearty Crafts Half Circle Flowers

It is a sad fact of life to have to make a sympathy card. I thought the  Hearty Crafts Half Circle Flowers suited this purpose really well.
A backing of plain card and Spellinders dies with a greeting finished my card.

3D Box Card Tutorial

Today I would like to share a tutorial for  a new way to use 3D images. The cards fold flat into a normal sized for easy posting.

3D Box Card Tutorial

You will need
Card 10 ¾” x 6”
Acetate 5”x3 ½”
3d image
Stickers
Score Board
I have used Hearty Crafts 3D paper Tole from Blue Edge Crafts and stickers from Sticker Store

Score the card from the left side at ¾”, 1 ¼”, 1 ¾”, 5 ¾”, 6 ¼”,6 ¾”
Burnish all the folds well.
Fold the score lines in the following way from the left.
Mountain, valley, mountain and the next score lines in the same way.

Cut a 4 1/4”x 3” aperture in the first large section of the card ( see photo)
I cut mine with Spellbinders Matting Basics

Attach acetate to the inside of the opening using double sided tape

Construct the  3D image and decide what type of background you would like.
I have used a Spellbinders die but you could add patterned paper or an embossed panel or just leave the background plain.

Glue the image to the plain panel and then glue the card together using the first tab on the left.
Flatten the card down. It will fit into a normal sized envelope.
Decorate the front with stickers and a greeting.

Royal Queensland Show Entry

My final entry for this years Royal Queensland Show.

A diamond mosaic picture with 44,500 tiny mosaic beads.
I love this craft, I just find it so relaxing and absorbing.  I think it could become very addictive:)
It was unplaced in the show but I really enjoyed creating this project.

Royal Queensland Show Entry

Royal Queensland Show Entry

A House Within a House

This is one of my entries onto the Royal Queensland Show.
I have made it from a tutorial by April from Craftknife Chronicles.
I was thrilled to find out it had won 2nd prize in the Off the Page Scrapbooking class.

Warning ...lots of photos
I really want to show you all the different sides to this wonderful structure. Although it took a long time to make I really enjoyed it.
The papers are from  a Tim Holtz pad.

The side panel slides out and I chose to make my shadow box into a miniature house

This is a close up view of the shadow box

My late hubby Ron would have been so excited. He was greatest critic and often chose the projects for me.
St Nicholas' chair is made from a tutorial  by Magda Cortez.
I have used Graphic 45 St Nicholas papers and tags.

The front of  the chair opens to reveal an album inside under the seat.

Loaded Envelope

I made this loaded envelope for my daughters birthday.
It is the first of what I think will be many  because I have a feeling they could become very addictive. It is also a great way to use up lots of bits and pieces from your stash.
The paper I used is mainly Kaisercraft and all the embellishments are a mixture of items form my collection.
This is the front of the envelope.

I made 3 chipboard tags and covered and decorated them.

I also decorated 3 different sized envelopes and added some money and other goodies to them.

This is a DL sized envelope and I attached 2 pairs of crystal earrings to a card to go inside this one.

I had read somewhere that you are supposed to add a rosette on a stick into your loaded envelope ...I am really not sure why know so I made a rosette using a Tim Holtz die and added it to a ribbon covered straw and another to a paper doily. I also made the paper clips just by gluing embellishments onto them

This is the back of the envelope

I hope you have enjoyed seeing my loaded envelope and thanks for visiting my blog this week
